As their senior year comes to an end, five high school couples face the challenges of transitioning into adulthood and its effects on their relationships. Carissa is determined to throw a surprise 18th birthday bash for her boyfriend, Brian, who is always buried in work. At the same time, Allison finds it difficult to fit in with her boyfriend Will's group of friends. Meanwhile, the other Sweethearts are busy making plans for the much-anticipated Senior Prom.
