Peabody's Improbable History (1959)

Episode Overview

Mr. Peabody discovers Sherman being bullied by larger kids in the street. Initially, he doubts if Sherman is the right match for him, but after witnessing the harsh treatment Sherman endures in the orphanage, Peabody chooses to adopt him. They face a hurdle when the law prohibits a dog from adopting a boy, but Peabody takes the matter to court. The judge rules that if a boy can have a dog, then a dog can have a boy, allowing the adoption to proceed. Peabody creates the WABAC machine to entertain Sherman, and together they embark on adventures through time, visiting ancient Rome and meeting Ben Franklin.
